Home For The Holidays...

The following ideas are provided to help you settle in over the
holidays, get plugged in to your community and above all, to keep a Christ-centered Christmas:

* Celebrate your new area. Let your children buy a new Christmas tree ornament that is from the area you live in. Date the ornament to remember... "this is a cactus we bought when we lived in Arizona!"

* Drive through the neighborhood, town or community to view the holiday lights and decorations at night. Your area may even have a special "Christmas Light Tour."

* Volunteer as a family to serve Christmas dinner at the Salvation Army, Red Cross or other community service organization.

* Adopt a family and provide gifts or a meal to them if your community provides an Adopt-A-Family Christmas program.

* Share an evening with your family and look through old photographs of family, friends and places. A great conversation starter and memory maker!

* Spend time together. Serve hot chocolate, light candles, and play Christmas music on a piano or instrument.

* Watch Christmas movie classics together such as 'It's a Wonderful Life,' 'Miracle on 34th Street,' and 'A Charlie Brown Christmas.'

* Capture moments. Take lots of pictures over the holiday season for your family to look at and remember when...

* Introduce yourself to the neighborhood. Bake cookies for your neighbors and deliver them personally to their home.

* Find a church that is having a Christmas Eve service and attend.

* Prepare a "soup supper" before or after your Christmas Eve service and make the entire evening special.

* Teach your children the story of Christ's birth and use your manger scene if you have one.

* Honor Christ with a spirit of thankfulness. Sit around your lighted Christmas tree with your family and hold hands. Share what you are thankful for and pray together with grateful hearts - for the birth of Jesus, our greatest gift!

Just Moved! wishes you and your family a wonderful holiday
season in your new home!
