Travel Tips For A Summer Move
Moms are always sharing their travel tips with me to pass on to other movers. Here are some great ideas as you plan for packing the car...
A kitchen timer
Used in several ways: "It's your time to share" or
"We'll stop for a break when the timer goes off."
Be prepared...
Take a roll of paper towels, small garbage bags, wet wipes, and Ziploc bags in the car for cleanup, diapers, and trash.
You'll be glad you did!
Air freshener
Really comes in handy to cover food odors, plus all those other unpleasant smells we don't have to mention!
First Aid Kit
Make sure the one you have is not outdated.
Traveling With Pets
*Don't forget a small water bowl.
*Put someone in charge of keeping your dog's leash.
*It helps to know right where it is located.
* Attach a bell to your pet's collar. A great backup safety measure if your pet gets loose.
A Cooler
Fill with favorite snacks, juice, fruit, and sandwiches.
Include a heavy-duty Ziploc bag filled with ice to soothe any minor bumps, cuts, or scrapes.
Plan Your Travel Break
When you are staying at a hotel overnight, stop late in the afternoon in time for the kids to go swimming and work off some energy before bedtime.
Get up for an early departure to get a good start on the day. The kids might sleep through the first few hours of the morning. Tips For Entertaining Kids
A visit to the Dollar Store can go a long way to amuse children while traveling. Package these small toys, books, and games separately and dole them out one at a time throughout trip.
Overnight Bag
After a long day of driving, you'll appreciate the convenience of a small overnight bag instead of that overpacked one for your hotel stay. Pack 1 or 2 changes of clothes and your pj's. Pack kid's clothes in ziplock bags then reuse the bag for their dirty clothes.
