Easing A Child's Transition

Children often experience a wide range of emotions before, during and after a move. It's never easy (as you know) to leave behind friends and all that is familiar to move to a place that is unfamiliar and where nobody knows your name.

Sometimes it's the simple things we can do and say that can ease a child's transition and help them emotionally. Here are some gentle reminders for you and your children.....

Prayer
Begin with a specific prayer for each child's needs.

Grieving
Grieving for friends and family is normal.
It's okay to cry.
Your friends and family are worth every tear.

Be Comforting
Comforting with loving arms speaks volumes.

Laughter
Laughter can soothe the heart.
Laugh a lot.

One-On-One Time
Spend one-on-one time with each child.
It makes each one feel cared about during the chaos of a move.

Learn
Learn to read behind your children's eyes.
It's amazing what you will learn.
