A Gift For the Heart...

Upon receiving our household goods in Japan, I realized that I had not brought nearly enough items. Our sponsor's Japanese home had been very tiny and crowded and had no oven. I didn't want to be crawling over furniture, so we brought hardly any, and I left my baking goods in storage, too.

Eventually I found a home in town with a small American oven. The home was about 800 sq ft and I began missing my furniture and baking goods. I talked with the household goods office and they said that I could itemize my itinerary of goods in storage and request one shipment. As I was going over the inventory, I also very much wanted to find my children's baby albums and photo albums. Several ladies I met in Japan had expressed horror that I left them in storage, and now I had fears I'd never see them again. But the inventory listed box after box as "books" with no clue as to what type of books were in there. It was impossible to figure out where the albums might be stored. I made the selections and resigned myself that I could not get the albums. When the boxes arrived, we unpacked them and it felt like Christmas to see familiar items! Finally, I came to the last box that said "kitchen goods." I pulled back the paper, and there was a blender and the exact three albums that I had wanted! I'll never believe that it was a coincidence... it was too incredible!
