Could it be? We are 'moving' fast to the end of this year! Before we know it Thanksgiving will be here and then Christmas!
It always concerns me a little to think of how quickly time flies. So many thoughts begin to run through my mind. Did I remember to show my love to those I care for so deeply? Did I take enough time from my busy schedule to be with my family and friends? Did my year count for Christ and not for personal gain? Did I 'walk the walk and not just talk the talk' to those who are reading the pages of my life? My mind searches my heart with the hard questions when time is winding down on another year.
As I get older, relationships become all the more important to me. I'm so grateful for my personal relationship with the God of unconditional love and forgiveness. He loves me and forgives me in spite of how many times I fail Him or disappoint Him. I am thankful for my beloved family and faithful friends, both near and far, who extend that same grace in my life.
This Thanksgiving I will go to God on bended knees, with a grateful heart. and count my blessings, big and small, one by one. I've decided that instead of focusing on Thanksgiving dinner this year, I will focus on the banquet of many blessings before me and recount them to my children and grandchildren.
Many of you have moved this year and will be spending Thanksgiving in new surroundings, away from extended family and old friends. I know how lonely you and your family will feel. Perhaps you could invite over a family or someone you've met who will also be alone on Thanksgiving day. Seize the moment to reach out to someone else in their loneliness over the holidays.
Know that you are never far away from my thoughts and prayers. My love and commitment to you will continue to span the miles as we enter this Thanksgiving season. We are connected through moving and bonded through Christ!
