From My Hammock

I'm literally writing this 'on the move' with a back to back Fall schedule of speaking, conferences and outreach events, from Michigan to Texas to Virginia and a conference here in Phoenix in-between!

I knew when September and October came I would hit the road running. How blessed I am to have tremendous support within our ministry office. It takes hours of planning and preparation for each event. The women who make it all come together believe in you, believe in the outreach of this ministry, and serve wholeheartedly. Our vision is to touch your life - some how, some way, with the love of Christ.

Reflecting on what God is doing in your lives and in this ministry is what gives me so much joy in the midst of my coming and going. I always bring back with me your heart-warming 'moving' stories, the remembrance of your tears and laughter, and the privilege of seeing God work in and through your move.

I cannot tell you enough that you are not alone as you deal with the feelings and emotions of leaving behind friends and family, worry about your children's adjustment, and struggle with keeping your marriage strong through the many changes that come with moving. Those of you who are single movers always tug at my heart with the challenges you face.

I meet all of you everywhere I go - your struggles and stories are the same, only your faces change. This is what I would whisper in your ear if I had the chance to hug you.

Be assured, again and again, that God accompanies you! You may be lonely, but you are never alone. God did not take you to a new place to drop you off at the city limits. He is with you every step of the way. He is the friend you are searching for and the comforter you yearn for. He is waiting for you no matter where you go or where you live.

- Jeremiah 29:11-13
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Reaching The Expatriate
Presently, my husband and I are heading up a ministry to 'EXPATRIATES' around the World (through Campus Crusade for Christ). Your material it so perfect for these folks. 'Expats,' as we call them, are people who are working, teaching, studying, doing ministry or military in a country that is not their home country. The adjustment of families 'unpacking their suitcases' is one of the biggest problems of most international companies.

aa( Jeannie, we gratefully join hands with you in bringing encouragement found in Jesus Christ! )

God Works In And Through Your Move
My husband's plant may be closing and he has sent out resumes. You all know the scenario: phone calls, interviews, praying for guidance, and then the waiting. It's the WAITING that is the worst! I know God is in control, but HE can see tomorrow, I can't. You just want it all to be over.

Then, God, as loving as always, shows me a verse. Something concrete on which to stand until His will is made known...
Acts 17:26: 'From one man He has made every nation of men to live all over the earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live.'

God has already determined my places of residence! I can rest in that fact. Whew! I think it's time for an Amen and a latte! Thank you so much for your ministry! Just to know I'm not alone!
Tina in Tennessee
aa( You are not alone, Tina! The verse from Acts will encourage many who visit our web site. Your letter is very timely for all the women who are waiting for God's direction. We raise our lattes and say "amen and thank you! )

God Is In The Details
I have been browsing your web site and have come across many very helpful things. But the item I am writing about is the 'Moving Story From a Moving Friend' from Jackie in Delaware, 'Grace from a stranger.' I read many of the stories and was blessed and encouraged after each one but the story Jackie told had me sobbing in relief, blessing and the awesomeness of God. What a wonderful blessing their family received from such a warm, tenderhearted and sensitive teacher. Thank you so much for having stories like these on your site. What an encouragement!
Mary in Indiana
aa( We, too, were greatly moved by Jackie's story, which can still be found in the archived section of 'A Moving Story From a Move Friend' on our web site. Thank you, Mary, for letting us know how it touched you. )

Cell Phone vs. Bible
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones...

* What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
* What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
* What if we flipped through it several times a day?
* What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
* What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
* What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
* What if we used it as we traveled?
* What if we used it in case of an emergency?
* What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?

Isn't this something to make you think....hmmmm....where is my Bible?

Unlike our cell phones, we do not have to worry about our Bibles being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!

Share your 'keepsake' about moving!

We covet your prayers
for these needs and upcoming events:

Our Just Moved! Conference in New Braunfels, Texas was a huge success! Churches from the surrounding area came to hear about Just Moved! Ministries and newcomers came to hear Susan speak on "Moving On After Moving In."

Pastor's wives were ministered to and encouraged with the love of Christ through Just Moved! at the Pastor's/Church Leaders Conference in Lynchburg, Virginia!

Our Just Moved! Outreach Conference in Phoenix, AZ touched the lives of newcomers from all over the metro area and Tucson with the hope and encouragement of Jesus Christ!

Praise God for the many faithful leaders who started "Moving On After Moving In" classes this Fall!

Praise God for our devoted and committed volunteers and financial supporters

We give God the Praise and Glory for:

For all those who have to move due to a job loss or crisis in their life. Pray for God's protection and provision.

For the many missionaries who have moved to another country and culture. Pray that they will find peace in their adjustment and transition.

For all the families who will be moving by the end of the year. Pray for the children's adjustment as they have to change schools.

For sensitivity to pastor's wives who struggle with the emotions of moving.

For military spouses and families who are left behind.

Have you been blessed by the Just Moved! Web site, a 'Moving On' class or through the outreach of N.E.W. Ministries? Just Moved! is a 501©3 non-profit organization and is staffed by dedicated volunteers. This outreach has been faithfully supported by people like you since 1987!
