Do you know that most families move between Memorial Day and Labor Day? That means many of you are facing a move over the summer, with the hope that you will be settled in by the time school starts. It’s kind of overwhelming, isn’t it? When I think about all you have to do to get ready to move, I want to show up at your front door and give you a hug, help you pack boxes, bring you dinner, or just listen as you sort through all the emotions that you are feeling.

You are especially on my mind during this summer time of transition. I received many prayer requests during the month of May concerning upcoming summer moves. Your emails were heart-warming as you poured out your prayer needs—for your own struggles, your marriage relationship, your children, family members, jobs, selling and buying a home—all the issues that come with change.

I am reminded of what my three-year-old grandson, Steven, says when everyone sits down to eat at the kitchen table, 'Let’s talk about God!' (which means to him, it’s time to pray!) With the same joy that comes from a child, I encourage you to 'talk about God' this summer as you and your family begin the process of moving. First, come to Him with a grateful heart, as you talk about His faithfulness and His blessings in your life. Share together the times you felt His presence, His peace and His comfort. Talk about Him often to help you keep perspective. Then, through prayer, make your requests be known to God. He is there with you, to sustain you, guide you and walk with you through this time of change in your life.

Know that all of us at Just Moved! consider it a privilege to pray for you. In fact, you can now send your prayer requests to us all year long! Anytime, day or night, email us and let us know how we can pray for you and your family. (email now)

Take a deep breath, my friends. Try to get some rest from a busy spring schedule before things get too crazy again with moving. Renew your heart as you recall God’s faithfulness, and refresh your spirit as you go to His word for refuge.

Trusting God in the Midst of Struggle
I would say I am still in the struggling stages of moving. It is really difficult and I so miss our old life. I am amazed at how painful it all is. I looked forward to the move and trusted that this was where God wanted us, but now I am clinging more than cherishing! It seems harder now than ever at 8 months since we moved. I am reading scripture daily and praying. I know God will get me through this as well as my kids.

Mary, we pray that you’ll be able to continue to look to Christ for that stability and familiarity that you long for. He is interested in your growth and His glory, and He will accomplish both. )

The Power Of Prayer!
To all the dear ladies at Just Moved... Praise God for prayer warriors like you. Thank you for being there for our family. You are truly a blessing to us! Much love...

Debbie, It is a privilege to pray for you and your family. May God continue to bless you in the days ahead. )

Be An Inspiration For Other NEWcomers...
I love your book, 'After the Boxes Are Unpacked!' I heard about it from a new gal who only moved to our town a month ago. She   recommended it for my daughter, who is moving away from here in 2 weeks with her husband and our 2 granddaughters. I'm reading it before I give it to her and it is so helpful. Thanks for writing it, and for your ministry and seminars. Moving has been very hard for me over the years and for our daughter. I think we could have a significant impact on our community by offering your class. I plan to look into your video-based class for our church.
Kathy
aa( Praise God, Kathy, that Susan’s book could encourage you and that you would like to use it to encourage your daughter and the movers in your community. )

God Is In The Details
Thanks for faithfully doing what God has asked you to do. Keep up the good work. I especially like your survival lists (in' After the Boxes Are Unpacked'). I can always find new ideas from them as I need them.

I am counting the privileges of
being the 'new kid on the block'
and having a 'clean slate' to work with
...asking Him how He would have me to fill my life.

Bloom Where You Are Planted
by Valerie Keefe
Class Leader in Canberra, Australia

I walked by my garden today
There wasn't a flower to be seen.
How could this be when just a few weeks ago
Everything was pretty and green?

I have to admit the cares of my life
Have kept me really stretched out.
Children screaming, telephones ringing...
Sometimes I just want to shout.

Always another meeting to attend...
A deadline I must make.
So many demands upon my time...
It's almost more than I can take.

People are always depending on me
Besides, I'm a daughter, mother, and wife.
Yet, I sometimes still feel so empty
With little meaning in my life.

I have so many responsibilities,
So much that needs to be done.
I keep pushing myself forward
In a race that has to be run.

My beautiful flower garden
So carefully I planted your seeds...
Only to neglect you
And let you just become weeds.
It is time that I take a look
At all the weeds in my life.
Too many responsibilities, not enough time
To be a daughter, mother, and wife.

Just like the flowers in my garden
I need the Son to grow.
I have forgotten about my Savior
The One I long to know.

It is time I just slowed down
And found a special place
To spend time alone with my Lord
And truly seek His face.

I know I must renew my perspective
And give myself some room.
God has planted me here
And here is where I should bloom.

I need my Lord. I need my family.
I always must put them first.
Just like my plants need the water
It's time I quenched my thirst.

Look closely into my poor garden...
A beautiful flower still grows.
In a life where I only saw the thorns
God helped me find a rose.
