March was a whirl-wind month of travel and an amazing month of ministry! From ten days at Yongsan Army Post in Seoul, South Korea, to four days at the National Hearts at Home Conference in Bloomington, Illinois, to three days at Ft. Belvoir Army Post in Virginia. That's seventeen days of glorious memories and the opportunity to touch lives for Christ!
When I am in the presence of hundreds of dedicated military spouses and thousands of devoted moms, I am humbled by their sacrifice and commitment. It was a privilege to be in their midst and speak into their lives with God's word, listen to the cry of their hearts, give lots of hugs, and cheer them on with my pom-poms. It doesn't get much better than that!
Here are a few of my most-treasured memories:
· Hearing a group of Korean women praying out loud in unison and harmony with one another, and the privilege of being the guest speaker at their bible study
· Speaking to a group of military moms and then all walking together to a Korean restaurant for my first introduction to Korean food
· Watching hundreds of military spouses come forward to lay their burdens, needs, and prayer requests at the foot of the cross the first night of the Faith Lift Conference
· The unexpected surprise of young moms at the Heart’s Conference who came to us and shared how much they had been ministered to, encouraged, and equipped through Just Moved! Ministries and resources
· Seeing the cherry trees in full bloom in the Washington / Virginia area.
· The joy of seeing women again that I had met at different times and different places all over the world.
· Finally, all the women, from the hostesses to the planning committees, who ministered to me through their attentiveness, care, and servants’ hearts.
Once again I learned that women from all walks of life, regardless of their circumstances, thrive on the hope and peace that only comes from knowing and trusting Jesus Christ. I was reminded how vital it is to a woman's emotional well-being to be in fellowship with one another, and bear one another's joy and sorrow. I observed how good laughter is for the soul and how much the word of God impacts lives. I was reminded how important it is for a woman to be listened to and to be heard, as she shares her story.
No matter where the Lord takes me--near or far--or how many women He allows to cross my path, I continue to count it a privilege to serve my Lord for a time such as this. It is always a joy to come home to Bill, my beloved family and friends, the precious women who serve along side me in the Just Moved! ministry office, and my faithful prayer warriors. It is through all their support, encouragement, and prayers that I press on towards the goal of the call of God in Christ Jesus! Philippians 3:13-14
Know that I hold you, my friends across the miles, close to my heart and in my prayers. We are one in the bonds of His love! |
