I watched the wonder in his eyes. His mind just couldn’t take everything in that he saw as he sat on the children’s train beside me looking out at the Christmas Village, filled with Christmas vignettes--like, Frosty the Snowman, The Nutcracker, and Santa and his Reindeer. All the memorable children’s stories of Christmas came alive as thousands of lights illuminated each scene along the way. My two year old grandson, Christian, was captivated by what was coming next, while at the same time trying to see what was right there beside him, as the train rolled down the tracks with the whistle blowing and Christmas music playing. I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else, but along with him for the joy of the ride. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss the moments of awe seen in His face, or his excitement as he pointed his little finger to what was coming next. What a precious memory I have of my youngest grandson and what a great lesson learned through the eyes and anticipation of a child.

This morning as I sit at my computer to write Heart Talk for January 2008, I look at the New Year much like Christian looked at the Christmas train ride. I have a sense of excitement and awe about all the things that are ahead of me this year, both personally and in the life of Just Moved!. I can see what’s coming down the track because of much prayer, planning and preparation. It is illuminated with the touch of God’s hand and the faith of those who believe in the work of this ministry. Yet, I don’t want to pass by, or miss the moment, of what God is doing right now in my life. Whatever unknowns are ahead this year, I trust my Jesus to be with me.

As you begin this New Year and have to face whatever might be ahead of you—a move, a life-change, empty-nest, illness, financial hardship, divorce, job loss—don’t miss the moment of what God is doing in your life right now. Don’t miss the joy of this day by trying to figure out what’s coming next. We don’t always have to see too far ahead, just trust Him for the unknown, and hold on to His hand during the journey. God is faithful. He will illuminate our path as He guides us through this year.

May your New Year be filled with Jesus ! May you feel His presence in the moment right now, and see Him in all that lies ahead of you.

In Everything, There Is Beauty
I love your ministry and I love you guys. I truly thank our God for you and your team, and this vital ministry you all lead. Even if I haven't met all of you, you'll recognize me when we get to heaven. I'll be the one saying, "Yippee, no more moves!!!!"
Sally, U.S. Army, Norfolk, VA
aa( We love you too, Sally! Many of us will have to wait for heaven before we can fully understand the beauty that God created through our many moves. )

God Is In The Details
I found Just Moved! by reading "But Mom, I Don't Want to Move!” I just happened to go to a library that I don't usually go to, looking for help on moving. Now I know it was God supplying my needs as He always does. I was able to keep the book checked out all summer until the day before we drove to Idaho from Colorado. I sat in my car, crying as I read the prayers and relating to all the emotions my boys and I were feeling about the move. Now I need to read "After the Boxes Are Unpacked."
Kerry in Idaho
aa( Kerry, we are grateful to God for using this book to help you and your boys. We trust you’ll find “After the Boxes...”, as well as the companion journal, to be helpful as you seek to understand your move from God’s perspective. We’re here to encourage you... stay in touch. )

Be An Encouragement For Other NEWcomers
Susan's book has helped me through the last few months. In fact, it was such a blessing to me that I've already sent it to another friend in the process of a move. We are currently still looking for a new church home. One thing this move has brought is a new understanding and burden for women forced to uproot and relocate. I would love to put some action to the burden by beginning a “Moving On” class in our area once we are settled in a new church. Thank you for your wonderful ministry!
Angela in Texas
aa(Finding a new church home often takes time. Be patient, Angela, and trust God to show you where He wants you to get involved. We’re here to help you start a ‘Moving On’ group when you’re ready. )

some place else or with someone else.
Where you are right now is God's place for you.
Live and obey and love and believe right there.
Friends, stay where you were called to be.
God is there. Hold the high ground with him at your side.
