A friend showed up unexpectedly at the door during a low point in Sue's life after they moved. She had balloons in one hand and a sign that she had printed in the other hand. It simply said, "Don't Lose Heart," but the meaning behind the words spoke volumes of encouragement to Sue. You see, Sue's husband had experienced a job loss after they relocated. They had to sell their new home and move into an apartment. Their money was dwindling fast with a family of five to support. It seemed their life was moving backward instead of moving forward since they arrived.
In spite of their circumstances, Sue stood strong in her faith, prayed for her family each day, encouraged her husband, and persevered with a positive outlook. Those three words from a friend encouraged Sue all the more not to become weary, but to keep pressing on each day.
And then in God's perfect timing, with many faith lessons learned along the way, Sue's husband found a job and they began to slowly rebuild their lives. Sue's family reaped the rewards of faithfulness and perseverance as they became closer to God and to each other through this crisis.
You might be going through a moving crisis right now too. Perhaps your move has left you devastated and you are trying to pick up the pieces and start all over again. Don't give up or grow weary, don't lose heart, keep pressing on each day doing what's right and good, and in God's timing you will reap His best for you! |
