The impact of one little word...

Moving is CHANGE. With change comes loss. With loss comes grieving. With grieving comes tears. When you move, grieving is a natural progression of what happens when you lose someone or something that is a meaningful part of your life. The loss of your friends, community, home, job, and even your church family can fill you with grief even before your move takes place.

The impact of change, whether through a move or some other kind of loss, can often be emotionally devastating. It can also bring fear and anxious thoughts to your mind and emotions-fear of what lies ahead and anxiety over all the unknowns that come with change. It's kind of scary, isn't it?--to think of the impact of one little word! Be reassured through God's word in scripture:

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you.
- Psalm 55:22

When I am afraid, I will trust in you.
- Psalm 56:3

Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Romans 8:38-39

It is the comfort that comes from knowing Jesus Christ that will give you peace and hope for all your tomorrows. Be assured that God can handle whatever changes come your way, and He will enable you to get through this time in your life. You may not know what the coming year will hold, but you do know who holds the coming year. Just the reminder of that one thing can bring you hope!

Scripture To Remember
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
- I Peter 5:10

Question To Consider
How will I use my time to draw closer to Christ during change in my life?

Prayer
Lord, walk with me through the changes in my life this year. Equip me to face change in a way that will glorify you and draw me closer to you each day. Comfort me with your peace and hope. Amen.

Thought for the Day
I need to remember I am never alone! Today I will rest in the arms of Jesus and release my anxious thoughts and fears about tomorrow.
