March 2007

When reorganizing our busy lives; put Christ first.

Tucked between winter and spring, March is a great month to get organized, clean out clutter, and make plans for the months ahead. When you think of doing some re-organizing, cleaning out the old for the new, and coming up with a plan, take some time to apply these things to your spiritual life too.

We all need a little reminder when reorganizing our busy lives to put Christ first in the order of our priorities. We all need to clean out old habits and patterns of doing things that do not reflect Christ in our lives. We all need to have a plan for how we will be intentional about growing in Christ. You might want to get into a Bible study to grow deeper through God's word and through fellowship with other women. You might want to cultivate a more faithful prayer time each day, or perhaps you want to read and study the Bible as a personal devotion. Think not just about what you will do; think about who you will become during the process.

Make the choice to prioritize Jesus in your life. Be intentional about studying God's word, through a Bible study group and through personal time spent with Him. Let every day start and end in prayer. Filter out old habits and patterns in your life and filter in everything through the eyes and thoughts of Jesus.

"I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:13-14

One Thing
We need to be single-minded and focused on what we are trying to accomplish.

Forgetting
We need to clear our minds of less important things so we can be free to do what is most significant.

Reaching Forward
We need to stretch or extend ourselves to do or become all that we can.

Press On
We need to go forward with effort, determination, and commitment.

These are your "MARCH"ing orders as you begin to bloom where you are planted for the coming Spring!

Scripture To Remember
In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.
- Proverbs 3:6 TLB

Question To Consider
What is "one thing" you can do to grow in Christ?

Prayer
Lord, my life is so busy and my schedule is so full, and yet my heart has a hunger and a thirst to know you. Guide me as I begin to clean out the clutter that keeps me from you. Give me a clear plan for how I can get to know you more intimately. I love you, Lord, and commit to putting you first in my life. Amen.

Thought for the Day
Today I will do "one thing" that will draw me closer to Christ.
