3 steps toward easing your fear and worry
Courage is fear that has said its prayers.
Ann Lamott
Let go
What are you facing down? A move? A job change? A diagnosis? The end of a relationship?
Start over
Give yourself permission to follow this fear to its source. Does it tap into a sense of inadequacy? A fear of the unknown? Are you imagining failure? What does your fear reveal to you? Invite God into this process.
Move forward
Carve out space, time, and solitude to sit with this fear. Breathe deeply and slowly to calm your mind and heart. Pour out to God what you’re learning in this process and all the turmoil within you. As often as fear rises up in you and you want to carry it on your own, offer it up to God with a prayer of trust and dependence.
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you
