He Will Find You In A Crowd

By Susan Miller, Just Moved Ministry Founder, author of After the Boxes Are Unpacked
Have you ever felt so alone? I don’t mean lonely for people in your life, but alone in the midst of people.
There are times you can be in a crowd of people, both friends and strangers—at church, at the office, at the mall, at a party, at a Bible study—and still feel so alone.
You might feel like you’re lost in the shuffle of life or forgotten in the clamor of conversation around you. In your aloneness, you may want to cry out – even scream out – “Please, someone notice me, talk to me, acknowledge me!”
In Luke 19:1-10, we are reminded of the story of Zaccheus. He was in a crowd of people and pretty lost too – in more ways than one. Zaccheus climbed up in a tree so he could see Jesus in the crowd below. Jesus not only found him but singled him out and called him to come down from the tree. Jesus wanted to be with him and spend time with him. I’m sure Zaccheus didn’t have a clue when he got up that morning that he would have an encounter with Jesus that would change his life – and his heart – forever.
Jesus will find you in a crowd.
You can be isolated like Zaccheus, or alone on the street corner with a maze of people coming and going around you. No matter how alone you might feel, His specialty is being close and personal. He is all about a one-on-one encounter with you. He will fill you with Himself. You are not alone.
Question to Consider: Am I seeking God in my aloneness?
Scripture to Remember:
…and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. (John 16:32)
Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)
…seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29)
Prayer: Yes, I am so alone, God. I will seek you and search for you. Meet me, find me, in my aloneness. Make your presence known to me. Amen
Thought for the Day: Today, I will read over and over again the Scripture to Remember until it is embedded in my heart and mind.
Hi Cheryl,
It sounds like you had a big move! We all know how exhausting and stressful it can be. Feeling alone even when your with others is such a heavy weight to bear, and it can be hard to shake in this world that’s moving at lightning speed.
I moved back to Florida 6 months ago and felt so alone it was crushing. I decided to see the beauty all around me, in nature, birds the beautiful sky, and just the little things, even trees & flowers.
It’s not easy these days to make new friends, but eventually you start to build a trusting bond with someone. I hope you will find comfort first in Him, and care for yourself, we tend to put everyone and everything around us first, when we need to find a healthy balance.. Try to see Him each day as your best friend first and listen to His subtle cues in which way you should go. God bless you in this new journey. 🙏🏻✨

I’m finally moved in…maybe 6 boxes left to unpack of 132 and the reorganizing. Feeling alone in community still—even while participating in activities. I appreciated today’s post and will keep the verses close of His always being with me. Thank you for today’s post. I need be more diligent in following and praying for your mission and my growing where he has planted me—for he has surely rescued me and is nurturing me in the replanting!
