Loving and accepting others as they are

When we love a person, we accept him or her exactly as is: the lovely with the unlovely, the strong with the fearful, the true mixed in with the façade, and of course, the only way we can do it is by accepting ourselves that way.

Let go:

Are there people in your life whom you love, but wish would change?

Start over:

True love is not about trying to change or mold someone into a version of themselves that fits our ideals, but rather, it’s about embracing them fully—flaws and all.

Move forward:

Unconditional love involves recognizing and appreciating the entirety of a person, including their imperfections, quirks, and differences, without judgment or the need for transformation. This acceptance fosters deeper connection and trust, as the person feels safe to be their authentic self. In the process we may discover that we may need to accept ourselves as well.

Three steps to move forward with your life is based on encouragement from Susan Miller’s bestselling book, After the Boxes Are UnpackedThe book guides uprooted women through the process of letting go of the past, starting over with trust, and moving forward in faith.
