Cherish or Cling

Cherish what was. Cling to what is and never changes! Cherish what you left behind. Cling to what you brought with you!

Susan Miller, After the Boxes Are Unpacked

Let go:

What are you holding on to that is keeping you from moving forward with your life? Clinging to what you left behind keeps you from benefiting from the new blessings God has for you.

Start over:

Until you let go of the past and begin to cherish it – instead of clinging to it – you cannot cling to the present and to God and embrace the future.

Move forward:

Write a list of those things that you’re having a hard time letting go. Talk to God about each of them. Now title that list, “Cherish”. There’s nothing wrong with cherishing those people, places, and memories.

Create a list of the things you will cling to. Here’s a start: your trust in God, the Bible, prayer, God’s promises, optimism, your immediate family.

Cherish and Cling. Those two words changed my life. Susan pointed me in the direction to go when first I moved here to the desert. Forever thankful.
